This is a great evening boat trip from the old harbor in Reykjavik. Chasing the northern lights on the gentle waves of the sea is an incredible experience. Sailing away from Reykjavik's coastline, and experiencing the aurora borealis in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, with absolutely the most beautiful mountains, and Reykjavik itself on the horizon. It only takes 15-20 min to sail out into the dark and away from the city's many lights. Here we will find a perfect location where the conditions are best to see the incredible northern lights in the magical night sky. Here you will also experience a soothing silence at sea.

On the tour, our guides will tell you everything there is to know about the Northern Lights, here both the scientific explanations, but also myths and stories from different cultures come to life. The guides are always ready to answer your questions.

However, this trip is weather dependent and unfortunately the Icelandic weather is not always cooperative. We can therefore not guarantee that it is possible to see the northern lights. If it should be the case that you do not see the northern lights on the trip, you will be offered to participate in the trip again another day, at no extra cost.

Our boats are spacious and have a warm indoor area where you will find a bar where you can buy refreshments. On the deck there is enough space for everyone who wants to stand here and be enchanted by the beautiful northern lights. We offer warm overalls that can keep you warm on a cold winter evening.

Plan-B for this tour:
We offer for this trip a backup plan. This means that if you should be unlucky with the weather and the boat trip is canceled, or the chances of seeing the northern lights are bad, you will go on another adventure! Here you will go to the Auroras at the Whales of Iceland exhibition. Here you will experience the spectacular Whales of Iceland exhibition, with a northern lights theme. The visit includes a guided tour, where you will see 23 lifelike and life-size models of all of Iceland's whales. Then you will see the brand new 25-minute Northern Lights documentary. After the documentary, you will have the opportunity to ask questions while enjoying a complementary drink of your choice. Here you also get the opportunity to keep your ticket and go on the Northern Lights boat trip the following evening, at no extra cost.

If the trip is booked with a plan B, this trip is not refundable, as you are guaranteed a fantastic evening with a lot of experiences, and you have the opportunity to go on the boat trip the evening after.
