Pick-up time: ca. 15min before tour start, from hotels in Akureyri
Clothes: Warm clothes (no cotton), Good footwear, Warm undergarments, Warm woolen socks, towel, cloths for changing
Age limit: 17 years
Important: You need Advanced Diver Certification or equivalent, Either Dry Suit Certification or 10 logged Dry Suit dives. Minimum of 25 logged dives, Maximum 6 months since last dive was executed.
Included: All transport, Experienced guide, All equipment, Two dives, whale watching (if whales are on site)

Diving tour Strýtan Iceland for unique diving experience

The diving tour Strýtan is a popular tour for divers from all over the world. The tour contains two dives in two different places. Both places are hydrothermal chimneys. The places are called Arnarnesstrýtan and Strýtan. This day tour is made for experienced divers that want to experience something unique and wonderful.

The diving tour starts with a little tour around the dive center and the exhibition Strýtan, this way we can explain what you’re going to experience. The first dive site, Arnarnesstrýtan, is only 5 min boat ride away on our zodiac. When diving by Arnarsstrytan, you can visit our friends, the wolfish and the cod and experience real underwater wild life. You will feel the heat from the 80°C water coming from the chimney every second. After the first dive we rest a bit in the dive center, switch tanks before heading to the next dive site, Strýtan. Strýtan is only 10 minutes away in our zodiac boat. Strýtan will definitely blow your mind. It’s such an extraordinary and unique place; it has been in creation from the last ice age and is just standing there, totally alone and in the middle of nowhere. You can see where the warm water comes out from the chimney and where it’s still building. After the dives you can relax in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful scenery over the fjord.

Even though it’s two dives, both with hydrothermal chimneys, they’re so different.
