Horse Riding  & River Rafting in Iceland

Look forward to a full day of adventure in Iceland. Saddle-up and paddle down! You will start your morning with a horse riding adventure and spend an exciting afternoon on a glacial river, for a river rafting adventure on the mighty Hvitá river!

The Icelandic horse is a great riding horse, very gentle and calm. It is a great joy to ride the Icelandic horse in the beautiful surroundings, and the combination with a fun and adventures rafting tour down a glacier river in Iceland, makes this a fantastic family tour – nature & action combined in one perfect day!

The tour starts in Ölfus, near the town Hveragerdi, where the first half of the day is spent riding on the Icelandic horse whilst exploring the offbeat open nature in Iceland. This tour gives you a true taste of Icelandic nature and the opportunity to experience the unique Icelandic horse in its natural surroundings. We provide all the necessary equipment and a friendly horse that fits your skills. After the horse riding, you can enjoy a light lunch from the buffet at the farm.

After lunch, we will head to Drumbo base camp, where you will go on your river-rafting adventure down the Hvítá glacial river. The river has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. We raft 7 kilometers down the beautiful glacier river and you will also have the chance to jump from high cliffs into the glacial water. The rafting is suitable for kids 11 years and older. This truly is the ultimate family activity trip with lots of excitement.
